# Settings

> Your profile, appearance and privacy choices.

Settings is grouped into **Account** — things about you — and **Workspace** —
things about how MESO behaves and what it collects.

## Account

| Tab | What it holds |

| **Profile** | Your name, role, school, and **the subjects and year groups you teach** |
| **Account** | Your sign-in details, including passkeys |
| **Appearance** | Light and dark theme |

> **Profile is the one to remember.** Your subjects and year groups decide what
> you can plan. If a subject is missing from the create-unit picker, this is where
> you add it — see [Subjects and year groups](https://docs.mesolab.ai/teachers/subjects-and-years.md).

## Workspace

### Privacy

Two choices, both yours, both reversible at any time:

* **Analytics** — product analytics, processed in the EU
* **Error monitoring** — diagnostic reports, processed in the United States

Neither is required to use MESO, and withdrawing consent takes effect
immediately.

## Passkeys

You can set up a passkey to sign in with your device instead of a password. If
you skipped this during [setup](https://docs.mesolab.ai/teachers/setup.md), you can add one here. It is
optional.

## If you are a school administrator

Administrators see two extra tabs under Workspace — **Members** and **Cohort** —
for invitations and activation figures. Everything else is identical. See
[Roles and visibility](https://docs.mesolab.ai/schools/roles-and-visibility.md).

> If you do not see Members and Cohort, you are not an administrator. That flag is
> set by MESO rather than from inside the app.
